The Raphinha ordeal of Barcelona finally looks to be down to its closing stages as per reports by Luis Rojo.

The reports suggest that the negotiations between Catalan club and the Brazilian forward are very advanced, and the signs suggest that the player will become an FC Barcelona player in the coming days.

There have been extensive negotiations between Barça and Leeds United regarding the Brazilian winger. The club have are desperate to sign the winger after a contract deadlock with Frenchman, Ousmane Dembele.

Barcelona’s interest had been sparked by the numerous uncertainties surrounding Dembele’s future. The French international is apparently close to committing the next two years to the Blaugrana, despite the fact that he has not yet signed a new deal at Camp Nou.

However, in the recent few weeks, Raphinha has become a priority signing for Xavi Hernandez regardless of what goes on with Dembele’s contract situation.

It now seems likely that Barcelona may see the signing of Raphinha along with the extension of Dembele.

It has to be noted, though, that Raphinha also has a massive offer from Chelsea. While he has only one goal in mind — signing with Barcelona —, he would rather move to Stamford Bridge than stay at Leeds.

The biggest hurdle toward Barça’s advances had been Leeds United’s stubbornness to accept only an offer that stands on par with Chelsea’s €70 million bid.

Leeds may be pressured into accepting Barça’s bid of €55 million plus add-ons, though, due to Raphinha’s insistence on joining the Spanish giants. It remains to be seen what the coming days bring towards the deal.

Raphinha has been allowed by team boss, Jesse Marsch, to miss their preseason tour to Australia and to continue training at the club facilities while his future endeavours are sorted. If the reports are to be believed, the Brazilian is on his way to Camp Nou for the next season.
