Barcelona have completed the signing of Inigo Martinez from Athletic Club, according to a report by Gerard Romero. The Spanish journalist claims that the centre-back has reached a full pre-agreement with Barça, and will join the Catalans on a free transfer once his contract runs down.
The player passed the medical for Barcelona a few days ago, and all necessary details in his contract have been finalised.
Barcelona do not know if they will be able to register him, though. They need to reduce their wage bill by over €200 million in the summer, and are currently unsure about any and all summer signings.
Therefore, Inigo has a clause in his Barcelona contract that says that he will be loaned out to a different team if they are unable to register him. His salary will remain the same, though.
Inigo has been on the blaugrana radar for a couple of months, now, with the club trying to complete his signing in the last two odd transfer windows.
