Even though FC Barcelona’s men’s team has endured a torrid period over the past six or seven years, the women’s team has been a trailblazer in their segment.

FCB Femeni have been often associated with success in European football, with Barça producing several Ballon d’Or winners in recent years.

Along with individual brilliance, FCB Femeni have exhibited dominance as a team as well and this season has been no exception.

FCB Femeni’s unrivaled dominance

In the wake of the team’s formidable 5-0 win over SD Eibar, it is only fair to acknowledge the season FCB Femeni are having so far.

In the last eight official matches, the women’s team has secured eight victories and has not even dropped a single point.

During this period, Barça Femeni have also racked up a whopping 42 goals, which is a testament to the team’s attacking prowess, led by the plaudits of Caroline Hansen.

Barcelona have also showcased superb defensive class and have conceded only two goals during this phase. They have only conceded only Eintracht Frankfurt and Granada in the last eight matches.

The road ahead

In 11 league matches this season, Barça Femeni have racked up 11 wins and are leading arch-rivals Real Madrid by quite some margin.

The Catalans are clearly a class apart from other teams in the division, meaning they remain the clear favourites to win the league title.

However, the real challenge is going to come in Europe. Barça will be pitted against some of the toughest teams in the world, including Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Lyon.

As the defending champions, Barcelona will be hoping to maintain their form and secure another trophy-laden campaign by the end of May.
