Barcelona facing transfer dilemma over misfiring forward ahead of summer – report
A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered an update on Ansu Fati’s status at FC Barcelona. The explosive forward has fallen out of favour at Camp Nou this season, especially after returning from injury.
The report suggests Barcelona are still yet to reach a proper consensus regarding Fati’s future. There are certain individuals in the Barcelona camp that believe the forward has what it takes to succeed at Camp Nou – he just needs more game-time and confidence.
But on the flip side, there are those who are in favour of Fati’s sale in the summer. Although the winger does not command a particularly high salary, his potential and age mean he could fetch a significant amount of sum for Barcelona at the end of the season.
It could go a long way in helping the club balance their books and boost their powers in the transfer market.
Coach Xavi Hernandez is well aware of Fati’s abilities and believes he is a valued asset to the team. However, in these crucial parts of the campaign, the Spaniard has put more faith in other options such as Raphinha and Ferran Torres.
Even with Ousmane Dembele injured, and not expected to return until next month, Fati has struggled to gain regular minutes. Therefore, a move away from Camp Nou in the summer has not been ruled out.
Fati’s agent Jorge Mendes had met the Barça representatives recently. Barcelona are aware that there are Premier League clubs who might be able to quench the club’s financial thirst. But nothing has been decided just yet, with Barça also holding out for a hefty price-tag.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see how things transpire in the coming months and what the future holds for Ansu Fati this coming summer.
