Barcelona expecting to rake in €40-50 million from the sale of La Masia prodigy

As Barcelona wait for La Liga’s approval of their economic viability plan, the club are already chalking out strategies with regard to player sales in the summer transfer window.
In an extensive report, SPORT’s Josep Capdevila claims that a long list of players are staring at an uncertain future at Barcelona, including out-of-favour forward Ansu Fati.
The 20-year-old La Masia prodigy has endured a season to forget as he has fallen way down the pecking order under Xavi Hernandez and has had very little prominence in the team.
Indeed, the Spanish international, who was plagued by injury problems in the last couple of campaigns, finds himself behind Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres in the order of preference.
Xavi has also used Gavi more prominently on the left flank over Fati this season, indicating where the young forward stands.
Given the need for major sales, Ansu’s name has been the most heavily linked with an exit this summer. And, there is understood to be interest from clubs in the Premier League, with the likes of Newcastle United, Tottenham, and Wolves among his admirers.
Before that, there were also links to the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United as well. And as per the report from SPORT, everything points towards Fati leaving the Catalan club this summer.
Barcelona expect to make at least €40-50 million from his sale, which should help them to a great extent in their Financial Fair Play battle.
Xavi was asked about the La Masia graduate’s future during his press conference earlier today, but he appeared non-committal in his response, saying: “We have not decided anything with anyone yet. We’re waiting for La Liga to give the OK on our feasibility plan, then we’ll see everything,” he said.
The player, for his part, wants to stay put, but his entourage is pushing for an exit. So, As things stand, Fati’s name seems set to be on the transfer list in the summer, with Barcelona hoping to make €40-50 million from his sale.
