Just a day after announcing the renewal of Alejandro Balde, Barcelona appear to have reached an agreement with Xavi Hernandez as well.

The Barça coach has confirmed his contract renewal in a recent presser, with Barcelona already moving on to the next target.

Barcelona working on Yamal renewal

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo (h/t FCB World) has offered an update on the contract of Lamine Yamal, widely believed to be the club’s next renewal target.

As per the report, Barcelona and Jorge Mendes are adjusting their schedule in order to officially renew Yamal’s contract until 2026.

Yamal’s current deal at Camp Nou runs until the end of the season. But the new deal could see him commit his long-term future in Catalonia.

Jorge Mendes is likely to play a key role, as he did with the renewal of Alejandro Balde. The Portuguese super-agent was also important in helping Barcelona sign Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo on transfer deadline day.

Renewal to be announced by early October

As per the same report, there is a possibility Barcelona could announce the contract renewal of Yamal by early October.

The Catalans are unlikely to have any difficulties in regards to personal terms, as both parties appear to have agreed terms.

It is, therefore, only a matter of time before the Blaugrana officially announce the renewal of Yamal, who has become the latest youngster to make a breakthrough under Xavi.

The explosive winger has indeed played a key role in the Barcelona attack this season, racking up two assists and even scoring a goal for Spain.

A contract renewal at Barcelona could send out a strong signal to other European giants, as the Catalans look to keep hold of their young sensations.
