Despite a series of injuries, Barcelona have fared relatively well so far this season. But as pressure continues to mount, fans are desperate for more infusion of quality.

One of the players who has become the talking point in Catalonia is Vitor Roque, who was signed by the club earlier in the summer transfer window.

However, it is still unclear whether or not Vitor Roque will be able to join Barcelona in the upcoming January transfer window, no thanks to the club’s poor economic conditions.

Deco on Vitor Roque arrival

That said, the club’s sporting director Deco has recently opened up on the subject, answering whether or not we can see the Brazilian join the club in January.

Deco, though, echoed a similar tone he had been keeping throughout the past few weeks. He refused to make any commitment regarding the player’s arrival in January.

“It is a matter that depends on Financial Fair Play and La Liga. If there is any possibility, we will try,” Deco told DAZN.

“We want him to arrive as soon as possible. If it does not come in January, it will be in the summer,” he added.

November 15 deadline

It was reported earlier in the month that Barcelona had set a November 15 deadline to decide on whether or not they can bring Vitor Roque in January.

As the uncertainty continues, the club are looking to work out their financials before the said deadline. As things stand, incorporating Roque’s services under the current structure could prove to be extremely difficult.

Xavi Hernandez, for his part, is hopeful of having Vitor Roque available after the turn of the year.

The Barça coach rates the Brazilian quite highly and would be delighted to have him at his disposal for the second half of the season, given the lack of cover for Robert Lewandowski.
