Barcelona could terminate the contracts of two players ahead of next season

With less than two months remaining before the new season gets underway, Barcelona are facing immense pressure to offload their unwanted stars.
The large expenses in maintaining the workforce have crippled Barça’s progress in the transfer market. It has led to the club struggling to land top targets such as Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.
Diario SPORT has recently offered an update on Barcelona’s woes in the transfer market, suggesting the club are now growing desperate to reduce the wage bill by offloading a few players.
One of them is Samuel Umtiti. The Frenchman has fallen out of favour at Camp Nou in recent years, with the defender appearing extremely unfortunate with injuries.
With Barça expected to bring in Andreas Christensen and another centre-back in the summer, Umtiti has not been included in Xavi’s plans for next season.
Another player set to be offloaded by Barcelona this summer is Neto Murara. The Brazilian is currently the second-choice goalkeeper for Barça, just behind Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
While Barcelona are keen on keeping hold of ter Stegen’s services, they are looking to offload Neto, primarily due to his exorbitant wages. The Catalans have already lined up Inaki Pena as the desired number two for ter Stegen next season.
It should pave the way for Barcelona to get rid of Neto in the summer, although the report indicates the former Juventus star has no intention to leave Camp Nou.
It appears Neto is looking to remain at the club until his contract expires at the end of next season. It is a rather surprising move given the goalkeeper has attracted offers from major clubs around Europe.
Neto, though, is aware of the fact that no other club may offer him the lucrative wages currently handed out by Barcelona. With that in mind, it could prove to be quite difficult to part ways with the custodian this summer.
