Barcelona lock horns with Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of their UEFA Europan League quarter-finals later tonight at Camp Nou.

The first leg, played out at the Deutsche Bank Park, ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving Barcelona with everything to do in the reverse fixture at home.

A place in the semi-finals would mean that Barça would still have a chance to end the campaign with a trophy. At the same time, progressing in the tournament can also have major financial implications for the club.

As reported by SPORT, Barcelona would stand to pocket a sum of €2.5 million if they beat Eintracht Frankfurt and progress to the penultimate stage of the Europa League.

The shock elimination at the group stages of the Champions League this term has hit the finances hard for the club. It is claimed that the Catalans had budgeted for around €20.2 million for their participation in the European competition this season.

Reaching the semi-finals would fetch them €2.5 million while they have already collected €3.3 million after qualifying from the last two rounds of the Europa League.

If Barça beat either West Ham United or Olympique Lyon in the semi-finals and qualify for the finals, they would also be guaranteed another €4.6 million. Winning the trophy would land them an additional €4 million.

Winning the Europa League would mean Barcelona qualify to participate in the UEFA Super Cup, which will help them earn €3.5 million more. An additional €1 million would come their way if they win that trophy, taking the total somewhere close to their initial budgeted €20.2 million.

So, there is a lot riding for Xavi Hernandez & co. heading into the game against Eintracht Frankfurt later tonight as they look to stand a chance of going all the way in the Europa League.
