Barcelona’s work in the summer transfer window has seen the club fortify the bench and elevate the aspect of squad depth.

But, despite these efforts, injuries to the key players of the squad are never desirable.

The injuries suffered by Ronald Araujo and Pedri have particularly rung alarm bells in Catalonia, with the club often relying on the pair’s strengths to salvage victories.

Now, MARCA have come out to reveal that these unexpected setbacks have left the Catalans worried, who are set to lose out on two of their most essential players for the near future.

Barcelona are perplexed about the constant injuries

Pedri’s injury, in particular, has been a bolt from the blue for the Blaugrana outfit.

The player has been prone to recurrent physical issues, but there was optimism heading into this season as he was looking to put these woes behind him once and for all.

Barça took extra caution with the Canary Islander this time, who was not sent to play in the Nations League a few months ago with Spain owing to the risk of his injury relapsing.

However, with his backbreaking debut season in 2020/21 seemingly still having after-effects to this day, Pedri’s muscle injuries have once again shoved him out of action.

Meanwhile, Araujo’s case also worries the La Liga champions. Another crucial cog to Xavi’s side, Barca are examining the reasons behind the constant physical issues and ways they can put these complications to bed.

As per the report, the club will not spare any effort to see if there is anything they can do to prevent further injuries.

When will Pedri and Araujo return?

Araujo has already missed the game against Cadiz and will be unavailable for the upcoming matches against Villarreal and Osasuna as well. It has been suggested that the 24-year-old could return after the international break next month.

As for Pedri, his recovery could take a while longer, with reports indicating that the midfield sensation could be sidelined until early October, which comes as a big blow for Barcelona.
