Ahead of the summer transfer window, Barcelona will need to prioritise certain areas of the pitch that need reinforcements before others. At present, there seem to be four positions given priority.

At right-back, Barcelona have been keeping tabs on Villarreal’s Juan Foyth, and at centre-back, their eye are on Athletic Club’s Inigo Martinez.

Meanwhile, centre-forward and defensive midfield also need to be bolstered, with Vitor Roque and Martin Zubimendi on top of the priority list there.

However, signing all of these players will be next to impossible for Barcelona given their financial problems right now. Each player, apart from Inigo, is valued at upwards of €50 million.

As such, they have already started looking at replacements. As per a report by SPORT, Barça are scouting Red Bull Salzburg’s Amar Dedic as a potential right-back.

The club sent scouts to attend Bosnia and Herzegovina’s home game against Iceland, where Dedic started as the right-wingback for the hosts. He also scored a goal in their 3-0 win.

Typically an attacking right-back, Dedic has three assists in 17 appearances with Salzburg in the league, and averages at least a chance created per game.

The report claims that Dedic is priced at around €10 million by the Austrian giants.

His profile goes in tandem with recent reports claiming that Barcelona are looking for a more offensive right-back after being convinced by Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo’s performances in that position defensively.

Signing him will not be easy, though, as Arsenal and AC Milan are also interested in the youngster’s signature.
