Barcelona are not considering sale of La Masia graduate this window

Eric Garcia has become a subject of discussion in the Barcelona camp recently, especially due to his diminishing role in the first-team.
The player has indeed struggled to make his presence felt this season and has yet to make a difference after the World Cup. He has indeed fallen behind the likes of Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo and even Marcos Alonso in the pecking order.
In light of his struggles, there has been speculations over his future at the club, with a recent report even claiming that Barcelona are open to listening to offers for the former Manchester City starlet.
However, according to Javi Miguel, the Barcelona coaching staff is not thinking about the possibility of Garcia’s departure. Although the Spanish journalist has not given out many details regarding the staff’s exact thoughts, it appears the Barça defender will not get sacrificed just yet.
But given the way the Spaniard has performed at Camp Nou, he could certainly become a bogeyman for the Barcelona defence, especially if he fails to turn his fortunes around.
Not to mention, Garcia could even become one of the first candidates to be offloaded next summer if his struggles at Camp Nou continue. This is especially true because the club are in desperate need of raising capital ahead of next season.
The departure of Garcia, therefore, could go a long way in helping Barça balance the books, to an extent, even though it remains unclear whether any top clubs across Europe are ready to splash the bucks for the defender next season.
A lot may also depend on the renewal of Marcos Alonso. The former Chelsea fullback’s current deal expires at the end of the season, but Barça are determined to renew his deal for at least a further year.
