In a major revelation, journalist Jota Jordi on El Chiringuito TV has claimed that Barcelona have internally discussed the potential signing of PSG superstar and Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe.

Jota Jordi further went on to acknowledge that officials from the Catalan outfit had asked him if he was aware whether Real Madrid had already signed the 25-year-old forward.

Mbappe discussed at Barcelona

Mbappe has been the talk of the town once again in the transfer market, with his contract at PSG expiring at the end of the season.

Speculations about an impending move to Real Madrid have been doing the rounds for weeks. And only a while back, reliable sources reported that Mbappe had informed PSG that he plans to leave for free at the end of the season.

As things stand, all signs point towards a move to Real Madrid for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.

But, it appears that Barça have internally discussed the possibility of a move for the French superstar and even enquired if he had already signed for their arch-rivals.

Given the financial situation that Barcelona find themselves in, affording a move for Mbappe is simply out of the question.

The Blaugrana are in need of selling players so that they can make quality signings in the summer transfer window.

And even though Mbappe would be arriving for free, his bonuses and mammoth salary would blow the Catalans’ salary budget away.

So, the aforementioned report about officials within the club discussing Mbappe’s situation and enquiring about his potential move to Real Madrid must be taken with a pinch of salt.
