Dani Olmo is set to become a hot prospect in the transfer market this summer. With the attacker’s contract at RB Leipzig expiring in 2024, the Bundesliga giants could look to cash in on the player at the end of the season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, top clubs across Europe are well aware of Olmo’s situation this coming summer. Leipzig have offered the playmaker a new deal, but there are uncertainties on whether or not the player would continue at the Red Bull Arena.

Romano suggests Barcelona are among the clubs who ‘appreciate’ Olmo, but the club have other priorities in the market this summer.

In their stead, it is Real Madrid and Bayern Munich who are strongly entertaining the possibility of signing the Spaniard at the end of the season. Borussia Dortmund have been in the mix as well, as they look to reinforce their options in the creative department following the potential departure of Jude Bellingham.

Olmo was formerly a member of the famed La Masia academy in Barcelona before he eventually joined Dinamo Zagreb in order to gain a breakthrough in professional football.

He hasn’t had to look back since and has become one of Spain’s most creative players. During his time at Leipzig, he has racked up 21 goals and 27 assists, helping Leipzig emerge as one of the top three teams in German football.

Barcelona had been keen on re-signing Olmo for a long time, as part of their plans to enhance their options in the creative department. But as the club look for a new central midfielder in the coming summer, the Leipzig starlet is not a priority anymore.

The club, instead, have been linked with moves for Fiorentina star and Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat. They are also targeting Manchester City veteran Ilkay Gundogan, although his high salary demands could make life difficult for the Catalans.
