Over the past 24 hours or so, there have been a lot of speculations surrounding the future of FC Barcelona defender Jules Kounde.

The 24-year-old defender arrived at the club only last summer from Sevilla, in a deal worth €50 million plus add-ons. Barça beat competition from Chelsea to secure his signing, with Xavi promising him a centre-back role at the club.

However, Kounde has played at right-back for the majority of the season due to the club’s lack of a reliable alternative. And, it is claimed that the Frenchman does not intend to continue in the position any longer.

As such, reports suggested that Kounde would be open to an exit in the summer and now Matteo Moretto (h/t Carpetas Blaugranas) is reporting that there is a good chance that Kounde could leave the club in the summer.

The former Sevilla ace is attracting plenty of interest from clubs in the Premier League.

Earlier today, we reported that clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United would all be possible options for Kounde should he decide to go ahead with an exit in the summer.

Manager Xavi Hernandez appeared to downplay the rumours surrounding Kounde during his press conference last night after the defeat to Real Valladolid.

However, it seems that the feeling within the dressing room is that the Frenchman is fed up and that the rift between him and the club has grown significantly.

If true, there could be serious chances of Kounde leaving the Blaugrana in the summer, although the La Liga champions will likely hold out for a significant sum in that scenario.
