It has been a rough first few months in Barcelona for Franck Kessie. Having been a permanent fixture in the AC Milan side for years, the 26-year-old has found himself warming the benches since his arrival at Camp Nou in the summer.

Given his lack of prominence in Xavi Hernandez’s plans, Kessie’s future has already become a major topic of speculation, with clubs like Inter Milan and Chelsea being linked with a move for the midfielder.

However, Kessie has no desire of leaving Barcelona anytime soon and he sees the recent Copa del Rey clash against AD Ceuta as a turning point in his stint at Camp Nou, reports SPORT.

The 26-year-old got a rare start in the cup tie against the third-division opponents, with Xavi opting to rest his regulars. And he made the most of the opportunity, finishing the game with a return of one goal and two assists.

Kessie was one of Barça’s standout performers in the Round of 16 tie of the cup competition and is of the belief that his display on Thursday could act as a turning point and help improve his prominence in Xavi’s scheme.

With the fixture schedule also set to get more and more intense, the midfielder believes that he will have greater opportunities than in the first half of the season, when he was going through the adaptation.

So, despite the never-ending links with Inter Milan and now Chelsea, Kessie is 100% certain of wanting to continue at Barcelona and succeeding at the club. The report states that he and his family are settled well in the city while he is also working hard to improve his Spanish.

It is also stated that the ex-AC Milan ace is in constant dialogue with Xavi to talk about tactics and how he can improve himself.

Furthermore, nobody from the club has approached Kessie and asked him to consider an exit this January either. So, with the midfielder confident of turning things around, a departure in the winter window seems a distant possibility.
