Earlier today, reports in Italy suggested that Inter Milan captain Marcelo Brozovic had turned down Al Nassr and was leaning towards a transfer to FC Barcelona. In fact, there were even rumours of a possible contract agreement with a €7 million initial salary.

However, it appears that Al Nassr are not quite ready to give up on their pursuit of Brozovic yet. Indeed, as per Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi Arabian giants are still insisting and pushing to try and convince the 30-year-old Croatian international to move to the Middle East.

Al Nassr have already secured an agreement with Inter Milan over a €23 million transfer for Brozovic. They had even offered the midfield general a lucrative contract worth €20 million per year.

However, having learnt of Barça’s serious interest in him, the Croatian ace had been stalling over a move to Al Nassr, and as mentioned before some media outlets suggest that he has outright turned them down.

But, the cash-rich Saudi club are not yet willing to throw in the towel in the race for Brozovic. They are aware that Barcelona do not have the means to match their financial offers to both Inter and the player.

Furthermore, Brozovic’s agents are said to have given the La Liga champions a deadline of a week or so to submit a formal offer. If not, they could end up missing out on his signing.

Given the situation, Al Nassr are unwilling to cool off their pursuit of Brozovic and will continue to keep pushing the midfielder to accept their proposal and move to Saudi Arabia. The possibility of them tabling an improved contract offer is also not ruled out given their deep pockets.

So, Barcelona must do what they need to do to sign Brozovic swiftly or risk seeing him move to Asia.
