Barcelona have a wealth of young talents coming through the youth ranks at the club.
With Gavi and Alejandro Balde already mainstays in the side, this season has seen Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez make their breakthroughs in the senior team.
Another promising young talent, Unai Hernandez, is also knocking on the manager’s doors and has been in and around the first-team setup quite regularly.
More influx of talents from La Masia will be expected next season and one such player could be young left-back Alex Valle, currently away on loan at UD Levante.
Alex Valle performing well at Levante
Alex Valle, 19, is a product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy and was part of the club’s pre-season tour of the USA.
After returning from the tour, the teenage left-back continued to train with the senior setup but then departed on loan to Levante.
Now, SPORT is reporting that Valle is performing well at Levante and could find himself a part of Xavi’s plans next season.
Indeed, for the second-division club, the teenager has played in each of their five league matches and has made a solid impression thus far.
Valle could find a place at Barcelona
If he continues performing at that level for the remainder of the campaign, a place in Xavi’s plans at Barcelona could be waiting for the youngster.
Alejandro Balde is the undisputed first-choice starter at left-back and has recently penned a long-term renewal until 2028.
Marcos Alonso, however, will be out of contract at the end of the season, which could pave the way for Alex Valle to find a way into Xavi’s plans.
Xavi spoke with the teenager prior to his loan move to Levante and, as per the report, trusts and counts on him for the future.
Valle’s contract with Barcelona runs until 2025 and if everything goes well, he could end up being the club’s second-choice left-back for next season.
