Barcelona have placed a distinct focus on signing young and talented players with promise with an eye on the future.

As part of this policy, the Blaugrana have signed players like Noah Darvich, Mikayil Faye, and Mamadou Mbacke in the recent past.

The said recruitment strategy has also seen Barça track exciting talents like Lucas Bergvall, who appears set to arrive in the summer, as well as Estevao William from Brazil, among others.

Ibrahim Diarra already at Barcelona ahead of December 2024 signing

One such player who is set to sign for the club soon is Ibrahim Diarra. The 17-year-old is already in Barcelona and training with the club’s reserve team even though his signing is not yet official reports SPORT.

Diarra, 17, was previously associated with the Africa Foot Academy in his homeland of Mali. The youngster is a right winger by trade but can also play as an interior midfielder and caught everyone’s eye with his performances at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia in 2023.

Barça had been working on signing the teenage prospect for a while now, but the transfer can only be made official once he turns 18, which would be in December later this year.

Despite that, Diarra is already in Barcelona and is training with the club’s reserve team, Barça Atletic, adapting to the ways and style of the club before his transfer can be made official later this year.

In Diarra, Barça have managed to secure the services of a player who is looking very promising and who could be a player to talk about in the future. He was involved in nine goals during the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, helping his team to the bronze medal.

Diarra’s natural position is as a winger, either on the right or left, but he can also adapt as an inside player. He also has good vision and a remarkable one-on-one game.
