Watch: Huesca 0-1 Barcelona, Match Review

Barcelona kick-start the new year with a victory on the road to Huesca, with Frenkie de Jong scoring the only goal of the game. Barça dominated the first half, against a Huesca side who defended extremely deep and with vast number. But yet again it was Barça’s finishing that caused us issues, as were forced to suffer for the 3 points by the end of the game.

To secure a victory in the first game of the year will have pleased coach Ronald Koeman, but he will know that several tougher fixtures await this month, including away clashes with Athletic Club, Granada and Real Sociedad in the Supercopa.

Barcelona must also ensure that their finishing improves in upcoming matches, as not killing off games and being clinical enough is damaging the team, and makes us suffer without the ball.
