Speaking after Bayern Munich’s final Bundesliga game of the 2021/22 season against VfL Wolfsburg, legendary striker Robert Lewandowski seemed to confirm that he had played his final game for the club amidst links to Barcelona.

Lewandowski is one of the greatest goalscorers of the modern era and has enjoyed great success at Bayern Munich since joining them eight years ago from Borussia Dortmund.

However, there have been a lot of speculations over his future in the past few months as he is set to enter the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga champions.

Earlier on Saturday, Bayern Munich director Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed that Lewandowski had informed the club that he wanted to leave in the summer transfer window.

Barcelona have been linked heavily with a move for the Poland international, with reports even claiming that a contract agreement is already in place between the striker and the La Liga giants.

And, Lewandowski, who was on target against Wolfsburg, all but confirmed his departure in the summer. Speaking after the game (h/t Fabrizio Romano), he said:

“It’s very possible that this was my last game for Bayern. I cannot say that at 100%, but it may have been [my last game]. We want to find the best solution for me and for the club.”

Lewandowski’s strike on Saturday was his 35th of the 2021/22 season in Bundesliga, meaning he once again lifted the top goalscorer award. Meanwhile, he also reached the 50-mark for goals across all competitions.

With Bayern seemingly accepting that the striker is unlikely to stay, things could pick up pace in the coming days as Lewandowski closes in on an exit from the Allianz Arena and nears a move to Camp Nou.
