Whether you believe it or not, Jean-Clair Todibo is still, somehow, despite the club’s great efforts, a Barcelona player. Of course, he’s never really been a regular in the team, not even a reliable backup for one reason or the other, but officially the Catalans still own him as a player.

The young Frenchman is currently plying his trade in Benfica or at least, he’s supposed to be but the Portuguese club is showing similar feelings towards him as the Blaugrana are. But despite his obvious misfortunes across all of the most recent stints, there’s still interest in the 21-year-old centre-back.

According to a new report from Giancluca Di Marzio, several European clubs would be willing to acquire his services. The first in line are Parma, who urgently need a new defender, and seeing how getting Medhi Benatia is becoming a more difficult job with each passing day, they are the current favourites.

But the Italians are not nearly the only club looking to get Todibo in. The same report suggests the likes of Nice and St. Etienne have a similar idea and we could see a small battle between the three parties.

This, of course, is excellent news for Barcelona since it opens multiple doors for them to sell the youngster. Is this finally the golden chance for them to do that? And if so, should they even pull the trigger?

With Eric García’s almost inevitable arrival and the resurgence of other talents like Ronald Araújo and Óscar Mingueza, it does feel like it is, even if that statement wasn’t true for a long time since his loan spells.

Now, however, circumstances have changed and unfortunately for Todibo, they might spell the end of his short stint at the Camp Nou.
