Abde Ezzalzouli could be on the verge of leaving FC Barcelona in the upcoming summer transfer window, reports Diario SPORT.
The young winger arrived at Camp Nou last summer, in a €2 million deal from Hercules. He even enjoyed a bright start to his career in Barcelona, becoming a crucial element in the club’s attacking unit during the first half of the campaign.
Although he was far from a regular starter, his presence in the team was crucial due to the lack of depth in the attacking department, coupled with the injuries to Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele.
Ez Abde even went on to make ten La Liga appearances for Barça, scoring one goal. But since the January arrivals of Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the youngster has lost his place in the first team.
He has featured in just two league games since the turn of the year and has been relegated to the Barcelona B side.
But it appears Abde could be on the verge of a move elsewhere in the summer, with Barcelona currently working on an operation to get rid of his services, amid interest from Real Betis.
It was previously thought Barcelona would be open to sanctioning a loan deal for Abde, but Los Beticos have expressed the desire to attain his services on a permanent basis.
They consider the 20-year-old as an ideal replacement for an ex-Barça star in Cristian Tello, who runs out of contract at the end of the season.
Other than Real Betis, AS Roma are also involved in the race to sign Ez Abde, so it could only be a matter of time before Barcelona sanction the sale of the young Moroccan, as he looks to take the next step in his career.
