Gerard Romero has come out with another mammoth report saying that Barcelona are very much alive in the race to sign Leeds United forward Raphinha.

It was reported yesterday Leeds had reached an agreement with Chelsea to sell the Brazilian for nearly €70 million yesterday but personal terms had not been agreed with the player himself.

The player, however, prioritises a move to the Catalans giants over that to Chelsea. Barcelona took advantage of the situation to meet with Raphinha’s agent Deco today, who was present at the club offices.

This meeting may have changed things, the reporter says. Barça are ready to hijack the signing and will do everything in their power to sign Raphinha, who is expected to cost a sum upwards of €65 million.

Further, it is entirely possible that Barcelona could retain Ousmane Dembele while also signing the Leeds’ forward to increase their offensive depth. More news awaits as Raphinha’s transfer saga continues to move like a Christopher Nolan movie.
