Pedri trains in the gym 3 times a week in order to gain muscle mass

According to a report published by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have devised a special plan to help Pedri gain muscle mass.

Pedri, for all his technical genius on the ball, does not build of a top-flight footballer just yet. Which is understandable given his age, and his time playing professional football. That said, it is imperative that he focuses on those aspects immediately, otherwise it can prove to be a hinderance in the long run.

The report states that the club had already come up with a plan while Pedri was on loan to Las Palmas during the last six month of the 2019/20 season. This ‘plan’ was considered do be extra physical, consisting of three sessions in the gym in a week.

The report states that all his sessions happen under the supervision of a professional trainer who changes his routine each week depending on the demands of the team and the calendar. However, given the current schedule in the top-flight leagues, it is hardly possible for the youngster to spend that among of time in the gym, but it is considered to be a long-term plan that will help him grow as a professional.
