It’s the dawn of a new era at Barcelona and Lionel Messi has motivated the dressing room to keep pushing forward. Of course, Ronald Koeman’s reign has gotten off to a good start but we shouldn’t jump to conclusions.

Still, there seems to be a feeling of positivity in the Catalan camp after the captain’s recent words. SPORT have gone with a cover that says exactly that. They imply that Messi has motivated the whole dressing room with his interview.

His words come as a relief because the players weren’t sure whether he’d be motivated to continue at Barcelona. Koeman, however, seems the happiest of them all. SPORT quote him saying: ‘It’s very positive that your captain asks for unity‘.

Of course, saying is one thing and doing another. Today, Barça will face a tricky team in Celta Vigo on the road towards their second LaLiga victory.

Mundo Deportivo, on the other hand, are mostly focused on the transfer window again. Their title? ‘DESTination: Barça‘.

They are confident that the signing of Sergiño Dest will be made official today! The American full-back has reportedly passed his medical exams and should now be presented as a new Barcelona player.

Koeman has personally vouched for the youngster and is extremely happy to get a player of such potential into his squad. However, the coach has also warned that the club lacks centre-backs.

It remains to be seen what Barça do to solve that particular problem…

I’ve been a Barcelona fan for more than half of my life. What started as blind love is slowly turning into professional writing. Now, I get to write about Barca, analyse them, and voice my opinions on them across platforms. I’m happy to be a part of this big project.
