Even though the transfer window has officially closed, the Catalans are still planning new arrivals. According to the media, Barcelona will sign Memphis Depay and Eric García in January.

Both of the local papers are focusing on that story. SPORT are calling them the ‘winter signings‘ and say the club will go back for them once the market opens.

The idea is, the paper says, to get them both for a reduced price. Considering that the Manchester City defender is out of contract, this should be more than plausible.

Apart from that, they also ask the question of what exactly will now happen with Ousmane Dembélé. The Frenchman is obviously not a key figure for Ronald Koeman but is staying at the club.

Mundo Deportivo, on the other hand, are saying essentially the same thing. Barcelona will try to sign both Depay and García in January.

Once the transfer market is open during the winter, the Catalans will go back for their priority targets. Koeman still wants a forward and a defender so these two are essential on the list of new arrivals.

The price, they believe, should be more affordable than it was during the summer. Only time will tell, though.
