Official: Bournemouth announce the signing of Neto from Barcelona

Barcelona have completed yet another departure this summer transfer window, as second-choice goalkeeper Neto joins Neto on a permanent transfer.

The deal was said to be in the works for a while, with even Napoli interested in pursuing his signature. However, the Italian giants pulled out of the race, and the Cherries did not take time before pushing for the signing.

Neto will join Bournemouth on a free transfer that will last one year, and together with Mark Travers and Will Dennis, forms the goalkeeping trident for the English side.

The Brazilian could never uproot Marc-Andre ter Stegen from his goalkeeping spot, but made a total of 12 appearances in the league, keeping just four clean sheets. He also played four games in the Copa del Rey, managing just one clean sheet.

Inaki Pena will act as ter Stegen’s deputy in the 2022/23 season, following his turbulent loan spell at Galatasaray during the 2021/22 campaign.
