Official: Barcelona squad list to face Real Sociedad

Barcelona’s squad list to face Real Sociedad at the Anoeta has been announced, with not too many surprises. In defence, Sergino Dest has been left out once again. Xavi did not elaborate on Dest’s involvement, saying that the player ‘knows’ about his situation.

Samuel Umtiti and Martin Braithwaite are not included in the team. While the latter is refusing to leave at all, the former is in talks to join Serie A side Lecce. The move could be finalised in the coming days.

After picking up a red card against Rayo Vallecano, Sergio Busquets does not make the cut for the game. That extra midfield spot has opened up, though, which allows Pablo Torre to travel with the team to San Sebastian.

Memphis Depay and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are negotiating their exits from Barça, to Juventus and Chelsea, respectively, but have been given the green light to join the team for what could be their last game wearing the garnet and blue.

Finally, Jules Kounde has not been registered in time. He misses yet another outing, but the club is confident that they can pen him into the team by next weekend against Real Valladolid.
