Official: Barcelona finalise long-term agreement with new signing until 2029

Barcelona had been working hard on the Roony Bardghji deal for a few weeks, and the player eventually underwent his medicals before finalising the switch from FC Copenhagen.

The highly-rated young talent is yet to be officially announced as a new Barcelona player, but has been seen at the club facilities, and an official announcement is anticipated anytime soon.

Meanwhile, the club is completing all the formalities and even posted a picture of him on their official social media yesterday, but later deleted the photo.

Done and dusted

Ealier today, Bardghji visited Joan Laporta’s office earlier to complete the final and official signing of his contract with Barcelona and completed the final step of his transfer in the presence of Deco and Rafa Yuste.

His contract at Catalonia will be valid until 2029, but he will be registered with Barça Atletic and will thus have to earn his place in Hansi Flick’s side.

“FC Barcelona and FC Copenhagen have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Roony Bardghji. The winger is to sign a contract with the club for four seasons until 30 June 2029,” read a statement from the club.

The former FC Copenhagen star has begun training with Barcelona and is working under Hansi Flick’s command in the ongoing preseason.

He is even expected to make Flick’s squad for the preseason tour in Asia, where he will look to impress the coach and earn a place in the senior team.

The Swedish winger plays primarily as a right-winger and will thus compete directly with Lamine Yamal for a spot in the starting XI.

Should his preseason go well, he could serve as a backup for the team’s number 10, else he will have to take a step down and help Barça Atletic in their complicated moment.

A lot of eyes, needless to say, will be on Bardghji in the preseason.
