According to a report published by ESPN, Lionel Messi’s father and agent Jorge Messi is already in talks with PSG over a negotiation that can take place in January.

Messi wanted to leave the club in the summer, but a move to Manchester City fell through after extensive legal proceedings regarding his contract and if he could leave the club for free. Now former President Josep Bartomeu blocked the transfer himself, saying that he could leave for no less than his €700 million – the release clause mentioned in the contract.

The Argentine came out after that to speak about the saga, explaining his unhappiness, and how the only reason he did not leave was because he did not want to drag the club he loved into a legal battle.

However, he can leave Barça in June, next year on a free transfer, and his father and agent Jorge Messi is already in talks with PSG over a move, with the report stating that the negotiations are likely to start in January.

PSG is one of the handful clubs in the world which can afford Messi’s behemoth salary given their rich backing from Tamim din Hamad Al Thani – ruler of Qatar. The six-time Ballon D’Or winner could join friend Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to make one of the most destructive attacking trio in world football.

Ronald Koeman surprised everyone with his travelling squad that would take on Dynamo Kyiv on matchday four of the Champions League, leaving Lionel Messi and Frenkie de Jong out of the equation. Following that, several changes have been made to the starting XI, the biggest one being Carles Aleña’s inclusion, who partners Miralem Pjanic in the double pivot.

Sergino Dest takes over the right-back spot following the injury to Sergi Roberto and has been replaced by Junior Firpo. Another huge takeaway is Oscar Mingueza, who starts alongside Clement Lenglet in the heart of the defece. This back-four will guard Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who takes care of the net in goal.

The front-four is very different as well, with Martin Braithwaite getting his first start of the season. He will lead the line, playing off of Philippe Coutinho as the no. 10. Pedri starts yet another game, playing on the left, while Ousmane Dembele is benched for Fransisco Trincao.

Confirmed Barcelona Lineup: Ter Stegen; Dest, Mingueza, Lenglet, Firpo; Pjanic, Alena; Trincao, Coutinho, Pedri; Braithwaite

Riqui Puig does not make the cut for this game, yet again, despite the squad having no more than four central midfielders, one of which was Matheus Fernandes. That said, we might see the fan-favourite youngster come off the bench.
