These past couple of months have been extremely hard on Barcelona’s talisman. But now, after a very long time, Lionel Messi is smiling once again. And that is a wonderful thing.
It’s international break time and the players are now training with their countries once again. For Leo, that means going back to Argentina and leading his national team.

For quite some time, Barcelona seemed like an escape from the harsh reality of his country’s football. We all know about his retirement incident and numerous shortcomings in that bitter-sweet career.
However, times have changed and suddenly, the two have switched places. Now, Messi is smiling again after a very long time but this time, he’s smiling because he’s in Argentina.
The problems with the board at Barcelona are sure to be blamed and even though the situation is improving, it’ll still be a while until Leo is content again. He did, of course, call for truce not so long ago.
This could indicate that the Argentine is willing to burry the hatchet and perhaps continue at the club after the elections. The alternative, unfortunately, would be him having the option of signing a pre-contract this coming January already.
Ronald Koeman’s arrival did change things for the better and the squad has seen an overhaul over the summer. Messi, for now, is happy. But will it be enough to keep him in Catalonia?
Only time will tell.
