Kylian Mbappe ‘seeking revenge’ against Barcelona in second-leg of UCL clash

If the first-leg of the Barcelona vs PSG matchup is anything to go by, the second leg promises a lot of goals, thrill, and tactical genius.

The Catalan defence, apart from five minutes of lapse of concentration, were able to make the most of the game, winning 2-3 at the Parc des Princes. The biggest talking point from the game, apart from Raphinha’s brace, was Kylian Mbappe’s performance.

Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde kept the Frenchman quiet for 90 minute, limiting him to zero shots on target and zero big chances created. The task will be much tougher in the return fixture, though.

Mbappe seeking revenge

According to a report by Le Parisien, Mbappe is not happy with his performance in the first-leg. He has been unhappy with personal problems in the recent weeks, with Lucho choosing to sub him out against Marseille.

As such, the Frenchman is seeking revenge now. He is very motivated for the second-leg and believes he can make the difference and overturn the deficit in favour of Paris.

Mbappe has an absurd amount of goals already this season, with six in the Champions League and 24 in Ligue 1. Barcelona were one of the only teams to keep him quiet throughout the game, Kounde, especially sticking to him at all times.

Luis Enrique also confident

Mbappe is not the only PSG asset confident heading into this game. Luis Enrique, speaking during his pre-game press conference also seemed motivated that his team can cause an upset in the Catalan capital.

“We want to return all the support we received at the Parc des Princes. PSG has never turned the tie around, tomorrow will be the day,” Lucho said.

A lot will come down to Xavi and how he deals with Enrique’s tactics for this game, having come out on top as the tactically sounder manager in the first-leg.
