Speaking to Movistar, on-loan Barcelona forward Joao Felix has responded to the comments made by Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann ahead of their blockbuster La Liga clash on Sunday.

Joao Felix left Atletico Madrid to join Barcelona on loan during the summer and his parting with Los Rojiblancos was not exactly on the best of terms.

Ahead of Sunday’s clash, a number of Atletico players, including Griezmann have commented on the Portuguese forward’s situation and why things did not work out for him at the Metropolitano.

Griezmann took a shot at Felix

Discussing why things did not work out for Joao Felix at Atletico Madrid, Griezmann insinuated that the Portuguese was not consistent enough in putting in the hard yards, as he said:

“In the end when you arrive here you know more or less what the coach is like, what the team is like, and either you adapt and work for it or things don’t work out for you.

“There were times when Joao did very well, he worked very well, but you have to be consistent and maybe there came a time when he got tired, he didn’t see himself here and that’s why he made the effort and the club also made the effort to let him leave.”

Now, responding to what Griezmann said, Joao Felix has hit back, claiming that he does not have to agree with what the Frenchman thinks, before adding that he was not the only one at fault for what went down at Atletico Madrid.

“Agree or not, everyone has their opinion and I’m not going to comment on it. There are things I could have done better. Both me and everyone else,” Joao Felix said.

“There are things that haven’t gone well. It’s not just the fault of one, it’s the fault of many,” he added.

All eyes will be fixated on the 24-year-old come Sunday night without a doubt. Having ended his goalscoring rut earlier this week against Porto, he will be eager to find the back of the net against his former club.
