Hansi Flick has a 95% chance of becoming the new coach of Barcelona, claims according to Catalunya Radio

The report mentions that Flick, who has previously managed Bayern Munich and the German national team, turned down offers from Premier League team Chelsea and Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich to wait for a chance with Barcelona.

Interestingly, Flick does not want to be a quick fix at Bayern. He prefers a long-term project like the one at Barcelona, where there is clear interest in him.

It is said that he is eager to join Barcelona, and after recent developments involving Xavi’s future, his position within the team is becoming stronger.

Flick only wants Barcelona

Reports have it that several Premier League teams, including Chelsea, showed interest in Flick after the Blues announced Mauricio Pochettino’s departure.

However, Flick has made it clear that Barcelona are his top choice, and he is waiting for them to make a decision.

It must be noted that a month ago, Flick was close to joining Barcelona. This was before a meeting at club president Joan Laporta’s house with Xavi.

The current Barcelona manager had announced he would leave at the end of the season back in January, but his position was confirmed after that meeting.

Since then, developments at Barcelona have brought Flick back into consideration. Laporta is not happy with the club’s current performance compared to previous years, which has opened the door for Flick to potentially take over.

Pini Zahavi will be the key

Adding another layer to this story is the fact that Flick is represented by Pini Zahavi, who also represents Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski.

Zahavi has a strong relationship with Laporta, which could help Flick’s chances. If Laporta decides to part ways with Xavi, Flick is ready to step in and his decision to reject Chelsea’s offer shows his strong desire to join Barcelona.

For now, Barcelona are staying calm as they have one more league match to play. However, work is ongoing behind the scenes. Once the season ends, Barcelona are expected to make an official announcement.
