According to Mundo Deportivo, four Barcelona players disagree to sign the dressing-room’s burofax to the board. The paper has even revealed them to be Marc-André ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong, Miralem Pjanić and Sergiño Dest.

Just to refresh everyone’s memory, the board wants the players to take another salary cut in an attempt to lower their massive wage bill. However, seeing how they’ve already done that once before to aid the club, most of the dressing-room is against another reduction.

With, of course, the exception of the four players mentioned above. But seeing the names that Mundo Deportivo mentioned in their report, it’s easy to see why they backed out of the ‘coup‘.

Ter Stegen is currently negotiating a contract renewal so it doesn’t make sense for him to suddenly turn against the people who want to give him a more lucrative deal soon. As for the other three players, they are all quite fresh, especially Pjanić and Dest.

The duo has only just arrived to Catalonia so it’s easy to see why they wouldn’t want to participate in the rebellion. De Jong’s situation is similar too. Even though he’s been here for a while now, he is still among the fresh players trying to make a good impression.

More importantly, however, all four captains have signed the burofax. Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto and Gerard Piqué agree there should be no more cuts. The tension is, as it seems, still pretty high at the Camp Nou.

Of course, we don’t have to remind anyone of the vote of no confidence that’s still in progress. Josep Maria Bartomeu is certainly not making more friends with his latest actions.

Only time will tell how this story ends, though.
