Competition at FC Barcelona is always growing and, as a consequence, many talented prospects that dreamed to make a name for themselves at the Catalan club are obliged to hit the exit door in search of newer opportunities.

One of the gems that made a rapid breakthrough to the Blaugrana first team was Ferran Jutgla. He spent time with teams like l’Unificación Bellvitge and Sant Andreu on loan before joining Barcelona in the summer of 2021 from the Espanyol youth academy.

Despite several promising exhibitions by the young striker during the 2021/22 season, Jutgla was transferred to Club Brugge for €5 million in the previous summer, with the Blaugrana also inserting a 10% sell-on clause.

After turning over a new leaf completely and finding consistent play time at the Belgian outfit, the Spaniard has revealed in an interview with The Athletic that the only way he would return to Barcelona would be as an elite striker and he will continue working towards that.

“After all that I lived, I can tell you that if I ever go back to Barça it will be because they have signed a top striker in Europe. And I’ll work for that,” he said.

Displaying exceptional mentality, despite still being 24, it is fair to say the player holds no resentment with his former club, understanding the quality one must possess to be a regular at one of Europe’s top sides.

The €10 million-rated striker enjoyed a solid debut season in Belgium, recording 13 goals and 5 assists in 35 games in the Belgian league.

With his aspirations set high and a clear indication that there is still unfinished business waiting for him in Catalonia, Jutgla will surely attempt to work his way to the top.
