Neymar’s future at Paris Saint-Germain is growing uncertain with each passing day. The 30-year-old had recently signed a new contract with the French heavyweights but now finds himself being linked with an exit.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi had recently dropped a hint that they could look to offload the Brazilian talisman and it seems like they have decided to go ahead and place the former Barcelona superstar on the market.
In his five years at Parc des Princes since joining Les Parisiens from Barça in a world-record €222 million deal, Neymar has failed to reach the heights expected of him. His time in France has been marred by injuries, disciplinary issues and off-the-field controversies.
And according to journalist Raisa Simplicio, PSG have indeed decided to make Neymar available on the transfer market this summer and are open to listening to offers.
However, given his contract runs until 2025, a permanent transfer will cost a big fee. So, a loan exit with the club that signs him paying his full wages is being considered a strong possibility at the French capital club.
The journalist then adds that Neymar is relaxed over the situation and is not pushing for an exit. However, if the 30-year-old were to leave, it is stated that he would prefer a return to Barcelona or a transfer to the Premier League where a few clubs are interested.
The former Santos wonderkid has been linked with a return to Camp Nou every year since he left the Blaugrana in 2017. And now that he is on the market, Barça are in no position to afford Neymar due to the club’s difficult financial health.
Given Neymar enjoyed tremendous success at Barcelona, it is only natural for him to consider a possible return to Camp Nou. But with the economic situation being as it is, it is hard to visualise him making a comeback to Catalonia.
A move to the Premier League, where a few clubs have already made enquiries, could be a more realistic possibility for Neymar.
