The Brazilian’s transfer has been causing Barcelona quite a headache for a while now and Coutinho’s future is very much still unclear with some of the Premier League sides reportedly showing an interest.
Of course, as we now know, Bayern Munich won’t activate their clause to buy the former Liverpool star following the end of his loan spell with the Bavarian giants. And now, it’s up to the Catalans to find him a new home.
One of the older reports from Mundo Deportivo stated Tottenham Hotspur were interested but there was no way they could afford him. At least not with Barça putting a 100 million euro price tag on his head for a permanent transfer and a 10 million euro fee for a potential loan deal.
And it seems that not much has changed on that front – Coutinho’s future is still unclear and José Mourinho has not really been dazzled by the player’s ability, at least not as much as Spurs fans have reportedly been.
However, Mundo Deportivo also claims that with some other Premier League outfits showing interest too, Tottenham Hotspur could move for Coutinho just so he doesn’t end up in one of their rivals’ roster instead.
And while the 100 million price tag could still pose a problem, maybe that sum is not that crazy after all, concludes the Catalan outlet.
Only time will tell, though, and maybe, just maybe, Quique Setién could find a place for him in his squad as well…
