Barcelona are stepping up their plans for the summer transfer window even as we enter the business end of the 2021/22 campaign.

The Blaugrana are already believed to be closing in on the free transfer signings of Franck Kessie from AC Milan and Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

Another player who is very much on the agenda over a Bosman deal is AFC Ajax right-back Noussair Mazraoui. The 24-year-old Moroccan has impressed for the Dutch giants and has accrued over 100 appearances to date.

With the future of Sergino Dest and Sergi Roberto uncertain, Barcelona will need a new right-back in the summer and Mazraoui’s age, potential and potential free-agency status have made him a top target for the Catalans, with a deal believed to be on the horizon.

However, as per Fichajes, Bayern Munich have also entered the race to sign the Ajax defender, which could complicate matters for Barça. The German champions are also on the lookout to address their long-standing right-back problem and are willing to rival Barcelona to sign Mazraoui.

Another Ajax player that is on the radars of the Catalan giants, but is being chased by Bayern Munich as well, is midfield prodigy Ryan Gravenberch.

The 19-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with the Eredivisie champions and could be available on a bargain in the summer. Barcelona are looking at the Netherlands international as a potential long-term successor for captain Sergio Busquets.

However, Bayern Munich are now battling the Blaugrana for his signing as they look to cover for the impending departure of Corentin Tolisso and ease some burden off Joshua Kimmich. Apart from Die Roten, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also keen on Gravenberch, making it difficult for Barcelona to land him.

It remains to be seen where the Ajax duo end up come summer, with the likes of Barça, Bayern and other European giants vying to sign them.
