Even though their squad has been among the oldest in the league for quite some time now, Barcelona seem to be rejuvenating their team once more. With the fresh influx of young and talented players, the Catalans’ future is looking quite bright again.
In fact, according to a new report from L’Equipe, both Ansu Fati and Pedri, two of their most prolific youngsters, have found themselves topping the charts when it comes to the best U-20 players.
The paper revelead the top 50 players who were born after January 1, 2001 and perhaps even unsurprisingly, Fati finished in first place while Pedri was fourth. Needless to say, this is a true testament to the Blaugrana kids who have been excellent this season.
Of course, sadly, Fati is still out with a serious injury and we don’t know when he’ll return. But once he does, hopefully we’ll see him take opposition teams apart once more. Luckily for Barcelona, however, in his absence, Pedri has taken a huge role to somehow fill Fati’s void. And he’s done it successfully so far.
The young midfielder seems to be thriving in the team despite his tender age and is only looking to improve as time goes on, which is a true testament to his talent and hard-working work ethic. With them, Barcelona’s future is well set and they could lead the next generation of the dream team in Catalonia.
Eduardo Camavinga of Rennes and Ryan Gravenberch of Ajax found themselves on the podium as well, finishing in the top three between the two Azulgrana stars.
