Despite the economic constraints, Barcelona have done a relatively decent job in the summer transfer window so far, bringing in seasoned stars such as Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez, while also securing Vitor Roque’s services. Even Oriol Romeu looks set to return to Camp Nou this week.

However, with Barcelona not finding much success when it comes to offloading unwanted stars, the club’s activity during the remainder of the transfer window could be muted.

That is why Barça are planning ahead, with a recent report from The Athletic claiming that the Catalans are among the clubs interested in signing Harry Kane on a free transfer in 2024.

Regarded as one of the best Premier League strikers in the 21st century, Kane has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham this summer, with his current deal in North London expiring at the end of the upcoming season.

Kane has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, but both clubs have been put off by Spurs’ hefty demands. Although the Bavarians are still harbouring hopes to sign the Englishman this summer, there is a chance he could see out his contract at Spurs and leave for free in 2024.

In doing so, Kane would be free to choose his next destination in 2024. That is where Barcelona come into the fray. The Blaugrana are interested in signing the England captain on a free transfer.

However, it remains unclear how Barcelona plan to accommodate Kane into the same team as Robert Lewandowski and Roque, who will be arriving at the club next year.

These are still early days, though, and it will not come as a surprise to see Kane jumping ship this summer, as he looks to start a new adventure elsewhere.
