Barcelona are staring at an uncertain week ahead as the club look to finalise a deal with Sixth Street over the sale of 10% of TV rights while finding buyers for 49.9% of BLM and the remaining 15% of the TV rights.

At the same time, today is the final day before the contracts of a few players officially expire, with the list being led by none other than Ousmane Dembele.

The Frenchman’s deal at Camp Nou ends today and there has been much noise about Barcelona hoping to find a late agreement to keep him at the club despite earlier reports that suggest the forward is not interested in settling for the club’s relatively lower salaries.

A recent report from Diario SPORT has offered a fresh update on Dembele’s situation at Barcelona. The Spanish news outlet suggests time is running out for both the parties.

Due to the ongoing financial turmoil, Barça are not in a position to register new players at the moment. Dembele, to that end, will be deemed as a new signing if the club fail to reach an agreement with the Frenchman today. It will make it difficult for the club to register the player.

Dembele himself wants clarity on his future. As per Mundo Deportivo, the forward expects Barça to make one last attempt to retain his services, though the original report from SPORT suggests otherwise.

The Catalans are not willing to increase their final offer in light of their ongoing economic crisis. They have set a strict €9 million per season threshold for all its players in order to manage the rising cost of the workforce.

With that in mind, Dembele’s prospects at Camp Nou appear to be bleak, although it will be interesting to see if the situation changes once the club are able to sell all its assets and generate the desired revenue ahead of the new season.
