Barcelona will attempt to sign 19-year-old Brazilian right-back again in the summer

According to Joaquim Piera of SPORT, Barcelona will make another attempt to sign Flamengo right-back Wesley in the summer after failing to secure his services in the January window.
The 19-year-old right-back had emerged as a target for the Blaugrana during the last month. The plan was to sign the young Brazilian for the Barça Atletic side on loan with a permanent purchase option and utilise him with the senior team as and when required.
The player was understood to be keen on a move to Barça as well, but negotiations with Flamengo proved to be difficult.
The Brazilian outfit demanded a loan fee of €1.5 million from Barcelona for Wesley with a permanent purchase clause of €15 million, figures that were deemed too high by the club.
As a result, the move did not go through, and the Catalans turned their focus towards Julian Araujo of LA Galaxy. A deal worth €4 million was agreed upon with the MLS outfit and personal terms were also not an issue.
But Barcelona missed the deadline to file the necessary paperwork for the transfer by 18 seconds and FIFA, as a result, has not authorised the Mexican defender’s move.
And SPORT is now reporting that since Araujo’s move has fallen through, Barça could very well revisit their interest in Wesley in the summer.
It is stated that the club has good reports on the 19-year-old that recommend his signing as he is seen as someone with enough potential to make the leap to the first team almost immediately.
Barcelona will wait for a reasonable time before reopening negotiations with Flamengo in order to strike a deal for Wesley’s signing in the summer, as per the report.
