Despite several reliable media outlets informing that Ansu Fati is on his way to signing for Brighton & Hove Albion on loan, there still appears to be some uncertainty over the move.

Indeed, Ferran Martinez of Mundo Deportivo is reporting that the 20-year-old Barcelona prodigy is still torn between joining Brighton & Hove Albion and Sevilla and will make a decision on his future soon.

Yet another U-turn?

Last night, it was suggested that Fati was on his way to Tottenham but it was not to be as soon reports emerged that the youngster would be joining Brighton.

However, overnight a La Liga club made a move for the 20-year-old, trying to convince him to snub the Premier League.

Now, Ferran Martinez reports that it was Sevilla who made the move and are now very much an option for Fati as he contemplates his next move despite the situation being advanced with Brighton.

The Seagulls’ manager, Roberto De Zerbi, spoke to Fati last night and explained the project and the role that the youngster would have in the team, essentially locking the deal.

However, a late approach from Sevilla has seemingly thrown spanner in the works.

Ferran Martinez further adds that Ansu’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is pushing him to join Brighton but the youngster is also considering the prospect of returning to Sevilla, where he spent the early years of his career before joining the La Masia youth setup.

Nothing signed yet

Meanwhile, Helena Condis is reporting that as far as Fati’s move to Brighton is concerned, nothing is signed or sealed as of yet, leaving the door ajar for a potential move to Sevilla.

However, Fabrizio Romano is claiming that a private flight has already been arranged for lunchtime today for Fati to fly to Brighton to complete the final details of the move.

It remains to be seen where the Barcelona prodigy ends up, with a decision from the youngster expected in the coming hours.
