Despite arguably outplaying Bayern Munich for a majority of the contest at the Allianz Arena, the visitors tasted a 2-0 defeat in the second game of the Champions League group stage.

Keeping that in mind, Xavi’s side would have their sights set on redeeming themselves against Inter Milan at the San Siro on Tuesday night.

The Catalan giants may already have one major advantage as one of the Serie A heavyweights’ most key players could be unavailable for the much-awaited battle.

As per the latest information provided by Pasquale Guarro, there is a possibility that Romelu Lukaku will miss the upcoming game against Barcelona due to an injury.

The Belgian international has suffered an injury-ridden return to the Nerazzurri, playing a mere three league matches so far this season.

While many wondered how the Chelsea loanee would perform in such a massive contest, coming off the back of a nightmarish campaign in West London.

However, it seems as if the neutrals will be unable to witness the prolific striker in action for the clash.

Ultimately, this eases some pressure off Barça’s shoulders, with both Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde succumbing to injuries during the international break for Uruguay and France, respectively.

Despite Eric Garcia’s encouraging start to the 2022/23 season and Andreas Christensen fitting in well in his new surroundings, it isn’t a hot take to suggest that the pair could potentially have struggled against a top striker such as Lukaku, that is on a mission to silence his doubters.

It is worth saying that despite the fact that the Spanish side are now at an advantage, it is never a welcome sight to see the biggest names miss out in such high-profile meetings.
