According to a report from SPORT, clubs from Saudi Arabia have shown interest in three Barcelona players: Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen, and Ronald Araujo.

Right now, Barcelona do not seem eager to sell these players, but the club might change its mind if they gets significant offers, which is very much likely given the financial prowess of the Saudi teams.

It must be noted that recently, Joan Laporta mentioned the club does not need to sell any players. While this is true to some extent, it would still be smart for the club to make some big transfers because of its financial situation.

Moreover, Barcelona need to find new clubs for three or four players who don’t fit into the team’s future plans in order save on their high salaries.

Players like Clement Lenglet and Ansu Fati might only find new opportunities in Saudi Arabia, though it’s uncertain if they would want to move there.

Saudi teams have already inquired

It is said that there have already been inquiries from Saudi Arabia, and they even requested to start negotiations.

In that regard, Barcelona’s key players, especially the center backs, are being looked at. Right now, the Saudi clubs are aiming high, asking about top players like Araujo, Christensen, and Kounde.

Among the three, the Uruguayan is already linked with an exit amidst the speculation that Barcelona are working on a contract extension.

This doesn’t mean a deal will definitely happen, but it does suggest there will be a lot of discussions in the coming weeks.

Kounde, too, has been linked with Al-Ittihad, but is likely to remain a key part of Hansi Flick’s team, while Christensen, too, is seen as a valuable commodity.

The main priority for Barcelona is to comply with the 1:1 rule to be able to sign new players. However, this requires finding a final solution for Barça Studios, an important financial matter.

Many meetings are planned to discuss this, and the club officials are confident they will find a solution in time to bring positive news, even if it’s at the last minute, as has often happened under Laporta’s leadership.

If this happens, Barcelona will not have to sanction a major sale but if not, there could be a possibility that an important player could be sold.
