Several Barcelona players face an uncertain future ahead of the summer transfer window, as the club’s fickle financial state means only a few are safe from being listed on the market.

But among those whose futures are most in flux, Vitor Roque stands out as a particularly uncertain case.

Signed with weighty expectations and a hefty price tag, Roque’s minimal game time thus far has indicated a clear lack of faith in the player’s talents.

And following his agent Andre Cury’s statements, in which he openly criticized Barcelona’s usage of the player, the Brazilian’s future hangs in the balance.

A man in demand

Now, AS has come out to report that a total of 30 clubs inquired about Vitor Roque, some on loan and some on a permanent purchase.

Manchester United and Chelsea are keen on signing Vitor Roque, but their ability to move forward depends on some departures from their squads.

Conversely, Chelsea are looking for an experienced number nine and may decide to veer away from their custom of prioritizing younger players.

Chelsea’s owner Todd Boehly is expected to set aside the “U25 Rule” next summer, but could look to move for Roque if he becomes available.

Previous suitors like Tottenham, who nearly signed Roque before he joined Barcelona, and Napoli have renewed their interest, but they are not the only interested parties.

Meeting will determine outcome

Barcelona’s management and Vitor Roque’s agent Andre Cury are scheduled to meet soon to talk about the 19-year-old’s future with the team.

Their meeting will likely determine the outcome of Roque’s future, as the two parties will seek to explain their stance on the matter.

While Barcelona prefers a loan so that the youngster can fully adapt to the top flight, if an exit is to take place, Cury is only interested in a permanent transfer.
