RB Salzburg players have produced a bunch of footballing talents in the recent past. Their elite pool of young players, who have graduated from the first team includes Erling Haaland, Dominik Szoboszlai and Karim Adeyemi, among countless others.

Even in the current setup, Salzburg boasts the services of a certain Benjamin Sesko, who is starting to attract a lot of attention, even from Spanish clubs.

This has been reported by Diario AS. The Spanish news outlet suggests Barcelona are joined by Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, in the list of players that are keeping close tabs on the development of the young forward.

Standing at an imposing 1.95m, Sesko has been already compared to Haaland due to his tall figure and physical frame that makes him an intimidating figure for any defender.

In addition to his physique, Sesko has impressed the onlookers with his sheer goalscoring prowess. Even at the age of just 19, the youngster has racked up 12 goals for Salzburg, along with eight assists.

The Slovenian is expected to spearhead the Salzburg attack in the coming season, especially in light of Adeyemi’s move to Borussia Dortmund.

Barcelona’s interest in Benjamin Sesko likely stems from Xavi’s plans to build a key core for the future. Although the Catalans boast the services of none other than Robert Lewandowski, the Polish international is set to turn 34 later this summer and cannot be a long-term solution.

That is why the Catalans are looking into an actual future-proof option in the form of Sesko. The club have missed out the opportunities to sign players like Kylian Mbappe and Haaland in the past, so they are keen on avoiding such mistakes, especially for one with Sesko’s potential and attacking prowess.
