Barcelona president would like to re-sign Neymar, but Xavi has doubts – Romero

It is no secret that Barcelona are facing numerous obstacles in their bid to sign Bernardo Silva, who was identified as an ideal replacement for Ousmane Dembele.
As the Frenchman moves closer to joining Paris Saint-Germain, Barça have grown desperate in the market to sign a new attacker.
In the midst of this uncertainty, one of Barça’s former stars Neymar has offered himself to the Catalan outfit.
Laporta likes Neymar, but Xavi has doubts
Neymar’s love-hate relationship with Barcelona goes a long way back. Ever since his move to PSG in 2017, the Brazilian has been linked with a return in some capacity each year.
This time around, Neymar has again offered himself to Barcelona once again. The club’s president Joan Laporta even likes the idea of bringing back the PSG superstar, reports Gerard Romero.
However, Romero points out that Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has doubts about re-signing Neymar.
The player, after all, has suffered numerous injuries during his time at PSG. At 31, he is also entering the final phase of his career, though his record at PSG has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Pini Zahavi to play a key role
Despite Xavi’s reluctance, Barcelona have yet to completely rule out the return of Neymar in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Romero suggests the Brazilian international has shown the desire to settle for a salary cut in order to accommodate himself to Barça’s current salary structure.
It appears the former Santos whizkid wants to join the Catalan side on loan, which could make a world of sense for both parties involved.
One individual who could play a vital role in making this happen is Pini Zahavi, Neymar’s agent.
Zahavi, who also represents Robert Lewandowski, is working on offering Barcelona a deal to sign Neymar on loan.
The super-agent had previously played a key role in helping the club sign Lewandowski last summer, but it remains to be seen whether or not he can engineer Neymar’s return to Camp Nou.
